Word Up!

Ode to the Living Word.

So I'm back for the summer. It's funny the things that you can learn from working at a Christian bookstore. Here is my list of top 5 things I've learned while at the Word.

5. Anything can be made to fit into the "Christian" market. Even Happy Hour.

4. Everyone thinks they're entitled to something free. Because after all Christianity is like some sort of club right?

3. If the Bible doesn't say 'Holy' on it, then it's "straight from the devil."

2. You can't really close on time. It's hard to kick someone out who is being prayed over.

1. Joel Osteen needs you to buy his book, his study guide, his boardgame, and his other book to support his ministry. [all of these are also available in Spanish]

(Yes, it's true. Everything can be made into a Christian-something. No, I don't watch the 700 Club. Yes, I like the Message. No, I've never broken up a prayer circle right when they were distributing the anointing oil. And No, Joel Osteen does not need you to buy the above items to continue his ministry.)

Congratulations on being singlehandedly responsible for what is sure to be the demise of Joel Osteen and his ministry.

I'm off to happy hour (fyi, it's not Sunday).
